Dumb Dumb was the song and music video that got me hooked on them. It's weird, kooky, camp, and full of colors so bright I was convinced it was part of some hypnotic marketing tactic to confuse me into liking them. The matching red peter pan collared dresses with little aprons and the whole concept of them being mass manufactured dolls was so fun that I still consider it to be a dream halloween costume.
All things considered, I understand this might not be everyones cup of tea. I'll be real, I have no idea why the rap had so many Michael Jackson references. Maybe it's the whole idea of people viewing idols and celebrities as products easily pumped out by entertainment companies, and then trained to perfection, so much so that people accuse them of all being the same due to insanely restrictive PR management.
I do think you should give the album a listen if you're into more upbeat songs with a lot of bass and a bit of nostalgia laced in it. I find this to truly be the "reddest" of all the albums which makes The Red the most fitting title for the album. Considering this is one of their earlier albums, I genuinely forgot how much their older sound was actually quite youthful in comparison to their more recent albums which seem to have a lot of R&B.
